How to Make Glen Campbell Boring: The Nightline Method
by Nicholas Stix

This was such a puff piece that Terry Moran turned a telephone line repairman into a “telephone engineer,” for cryin’ out loud! But what do you expect of Nightline?

By the way, since Moran is worthless for even the safest information, Campbell and his current wife of 29 years, Kim, met on a blind date in 1981, when she was a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall. I found multiple corroboration for that tidbit, so I guess I was one of only two people who didn’t know it.

So there was no talk of the wife-swapping scandal with his once good buddy, Mac Davis, whose wife Sarah he married, which messed up his TV and movie career, or about crazy times with Tanya Tucker, and all the years of drugs and drinking, all of which would have made for a much more interesting interview. I suppose ol’ Glen could have just said he doesn’t remember any of those things!
